Position Summary

The IT Systems Engineer II is responsible for advanced system engineering and integration within healthcare environments. This role involves designing and implementing complex solutions across nurse call, voice/messaging mobility, RTLS, and EHR/HL7 systems. The IT Systems Engineer II also acts as a technical escalation point for the IT team, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize healthcare IT systems and integrations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for voice/messaging mobility solutions and RTLS deployments.
• Develop and refine EHR/HL7 interfaces to support data interoperability and compliance.
• Perform advanced network and system diagnostics and lead root cause analyses.
• Lead system upgrades, migrations, and major enhancement projects.
• Provide high-level support for MSSQL databases, including performance tuning.
• Collaborate with clinical leadership to align IT solutions with patient care goals.
• Lead technical documentation and process standardization initiatives.
• Mentor IT Analysts and IT Engineer 1 team members.
• Contribute to IT security initiatives, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server administration and MSSQL database management.
• Advanced proficiency with VoIP/SIP communication systems and RTLS infrastructure.
• In-depth understanding of HL7 standards, EHR integration, RTLS, and healthcare data flows.
• Advanced scripting and automation skills.
• Strong networking and security troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of IT Systems Engineering experience in a healthcare environment.
• Certifications such as CCNP, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or equivalent.
• Experience with healthcare IT standards and compliance (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).
