Healthcare Data Architect – Product Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

Primary Systems, Inc is seeking a Healthcare Data Architect to enhance our service offerings related to data-driven decisions. This role will expand our data collection efforts to other healthcare entities through integrations, providing our customers with improved decision-making tools. The role involves transforming and publishing data from various structured and unstructured sources to build high-performing data pipelines and data stores that are efficient, organized, and reliable. The focus is on creating cost-effective, robust, and highly available enterprise data models. The architect will work cross-functionally as a solution partner, engaging daily in collaborative interactions with customers and internal teams. This role will be regarded as the subject matter expert on Primary Systems’ data and processes, utilizing expertise to manage multiple projects simultaneously while making recommendations to ease support issues.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Consult with customer to solve issues with data by gathering customer requirements, assessing their environment and associated data, then building proof of concept products.
  • Design, construct, and maintain the architecture, databases, and large-scale processing systems required for efficient and secure data acquisition, storage, and retrieval.
  • Build and maintain data systems. Responsible for constructing datasets that are easy to analyze and support company requirements.
  • Responsible for implementing methods to improve data reliability and quality. Combine raw information from different sources to create consistent and machine-readable formats. Develop and test architectures that enable data extraction and transformation for predictive or prescriptive modeling.
  • Use advanced data modeling skills to design and develop dimension and fact tables supporting a near real-time enterprise data model.
  • Improving data quality and efficiency.
  • Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling.
  • Develop analytical tools and programs.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Advanced MS SQL Server knowledge (MS SQL Server 2016+ preferred).
  • Development expertise with MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), dbt and Apache Airflow.
  • Proficient with cloud DW and ETL/ELT solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Talend, Matillion, etc.).
  • Expert Microsoft t-SQL and DAX development skills.
  • Extensive experience using various data modeling techniques (Kimball, Inmon, or Data Vault).
  • Experience using the Power Platform, particularly Power Bi and Power Automate.
  • Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role.
  • Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL database design.
  • Experience working with healthcare data systems such as EPIC is highly preferred.
  • Great numerical and analytical skills.
  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a similar field; a master’s is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installation and ongoing maintenance of enterprise level applications
  • Configuration of Windows Server Operating Systems
  • Microsoft Azure cloud application support (Teams, Azure AD, Azure SSO, etc.)
  • MS SQL database administration
  • Support of complex application and database migrations
  • Provide on-site, phone, & remote access technical support
  • Detailed documentation of projects and assigned support cases
  • Communicate technical issues on projects to supervisor

Work is performed in an office atmosphere. All employees must follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as:  dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures—for short periods of time is possible.
