St. Anthony’s “purse snatcher” identified utilizing CCTV system

(Story from KSDK)

St. Louis County Police say a woman wanted for stealing purses from women sleeping in the St. Anthony's Hospital waiting room has been identified.

Police said on January 24 between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m., the woman walked into the hospital and stole a purse from a woman who was asleep in a waiting room. The female suspect later used stolen credit cards at several stores.

On February 20 between 1:00 and 10:00 a.m., the woman matching a suspect's description stole several credit cards and car keys from another woman's purse in a waiting room at the hospital. That victim was also asleep.

Just hours after Newschannel 5 posted the pictures of the suspect, St. Louis County police said someone identified her.

Thanks to the upgraded surveillance system that was implemented by Primary Systems, St. Anthony's security team was able to utilize their recorded digital video to help authorities apprehend the "Purse Snatcher".
